The Department of Microbiology at E.R.K Arts & Science College has been established with the objective of providing quality microbiological education to women students from Dharmapuri and surrounding districts.
The programme follows the Periyar University curriculum under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), designed to give students a strong foundation in basic and applied microbiology, clinical laboratory techniques, and biochemistry.
The department is equipped with a dedicated microbiology laboratory staffed by qualified faculty with PhD and research experience. The programme prepares students for careers in hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, food technology, and clinical diagnostics.
