E.R.K Arts & Science College was established in 2008 under the E.R.K Educational Trust, founded by Thiru E. R. Selvaraj with a far-sighted vision to provide quality higher education to the women of rural and semi-urban Dharmapuri district.
What began as a single institution has grown into a full-fledged college offering 13 undergraduate, 8 postgraduate, and 3 doctoral programmes, serving thousands of students across Pappireddipatti, Dharmapuri and surrounding taluks.
The college is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem, and received the prestigious UGC Act 1956 — Section 2(f) & 12(B) recognition in 2017, making students eligible for all central and state government scholarships.

With a far-sighted vision and selfless dedication, Thiru E. R. Selvaraj founded the E.R.K Educational Trust to address the educational needs of the marginalised communities in Dharmapuri district.
